I gave some more thought to what you advised and I decided to see if Sunny would sleep next to my bed and he really does like it. So I put his bed there 🙂 He no longer barks in the morning and I find I sleep more peacefully too oddly!
I owe you a thank you because although I was initially sceptical it was a good step to take.
